Pretty Pink Flowers of Hope!
Grow Hope in your garden & support the fight against breast cancer through local family Kathy & Lee Gilller. Their team of family & friends named Breast Man Walking” will walk 60 miles for the Breast cancer 3 Day in three cities. The money we raise together will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of “Pink Mix” Impatiens Hanging Baskets & Porch Pots, Pink Astilbe & Double Pink Knock-out Roses from may 3rd – 11 will benefit their team.

A message from Kathy Giller:
BREAST MAN WALKING is named for my husband, Lee, who is a 2 1/2 year male breast cancer survivor. We began walking in our first 3-Day as a family just six months after Lee finished his chemo and radiation treatments. Since then, we have walked in five 3-Day events in three cities. Lee has been honored to be part of the Survivors’ Circle in each of those venues, bringing awareness about the risks that men can also face. As grateful as we are for Lee’s recovery, we live with the unspoken fear that the cancer could recur at any time. And that fear does not end with Lee. We know that our children face a much higher risk of developing this disease because of an inherited gene mutation.
This year another 200,000 women and 2,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States alone. 40,000 will not survive. So until a cure is found, we will keep on walking. We will share our own story and embrace the stories of countless others who tell of survival, courage, victory and defeat. Walking 180 miles seems easy when compared to being faced with the fight against breast cancer. Please help us make those miles count. |
