HOW TO TRANSITION YOUR HOUSEPLANTS FOR FALL:
Like us, plants have to spend more time inside during the cooler months. Once temperatures start to get near 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside at night, it’s important to grab your more fragile plants and bring them inside.

While your plants are still outside, this is a great opportunity to have a last of the season pamper. Water your plants well outside your home. It is a great time to give them a soak and wash down their leaves.
Fertilize your houseplants one last time before we head into our darker late fall and winter months. We recommend you avoid fertilizing them after Halloween until April when our homes brighten and warm up.
Treat them for living bugs. We recommend a houseplant systemic that you apply to the roots. This will prevent any pesky bugs from coming into your home with your plants. You can also you beneficial nematodes.
Find the perfect space for your house plant. Remember to think about what light conditions they prefer and then place them accordingly. If you aren;t exactly sure how to best place your plants, read our blog post on indoor house plants and light conditions.
The number of times you water your house plants a month will begin to tamper as we move into darker, cooler months. Karlie recommends cutting your summer watering routine in half to avoid overwatering in the fall and winter.
